WI equipment for disaster relief operations

Winkelbauer employees and
WI equipment support disaster relief operations after floods

Winkelbauer employees are strongly represented in many fire brigades in Eastern Styria, but are also active in other voluntary areas such as the Red Cross in their free time.

During the floods and the necessary clean-up work, some of our employees were on disaster duty and were therefore released from work.

“The performance and commitment of all those who sacrifice their free time for the common good is tremendous. I appreciate and support the personal efforts of the individual members and the volunteer fire brigades in our region. It is therefore a matter of course for us to release our employees from work for fire service or disaster relief operations as far as we can,” says Michael Winkelbauer.

The Winkelbauer equipment package

Following the devastating floods in Eastern Styria, the volunteer fire brigades are under great pressure. The flood has caused severe damage and many residents are facing the ruins of their livelihoods.

In recent years, the Styrian fire service association has invested in telescopic handlers from Liebherr and equipped them with a comprehensive equipment package from Winkelbauer, especially for such operations.

The flexible telehandler and the highly specialised equipment provide effective and efficient support during clean-up operations. Thanks to the hydraulic quick coupler, various Attachments such as standard buckets, buckets with hydraulic grapples, fork carriage with hydraulic side shift and special booms with timber grapples can be mounted at short notice for the respective requirements. A personnel basket is available for working at height and for rescuing people.

“In the midst of the chaos and destruction, the volunteers’ willingness to help is a ray of hope for many people who have lost their homes and possessions in the floods,” says Michael Winkelbauer. “We are proud of our team and of the fact that our equipment can contribute to the rapid response to this disaster.” Michael Winkelbauer
