Since mid-October, a new CAT 980 wheel loader has been in operation in the quarry at the Allerding gravel works, reducing the lorry load with its 6 m³ bucket from Winkelbauer to three loading cycles.
Schärdinger Granit Industrie GmbH, based in St. Florian am Inn, has been very successful in stone extraction and processing for many decades. In order to be optimally equipped for the future, the company is currently investing large sums in the modernisation of its vehicle fleet at the Gopperding, Allerding and Schrems sites. Since mid-October 2023, a new Cat 980 wheel loader has been in use in the quarry at the Allerding gravel plant, which reduces the lorry load with its 6 m³ bucket from Winkelbauer to three loading cycles.</em
Over many decades, Schärdinger Granit Industrie GmbH has not only acquired extensive expertise in stone extraction, but also in stone processing. The two quarries in Gopperding and Allerding are located near Schärding, with the plant in Allerding specialising in processing Schärdinger granite into crushed stone. This is valued above all as an extraordinarily robust material.
In March 2023, the company management decided to invest in extensive fleet modernisation at all locations. The overall package includes low-loaders, a drilling rig, two stationary wire saws and several excavators. In mid-October 2023, a new Cat 980 wheel loader was handed over at the Allerding plant – the third in the fleet alongside two other wheel loaders with a shovel from Winkelbauer.
