Apprenticeship
Machining-
technology
Exciting tasks await you in metal technology! At Winkelbauer, you will be trained to become a true all-rounder in the field of turning and milling and manufacture products that will amaze others.
Metal technology machinists produce metal components by using cutting or machining processes. These include drilling, turning, milling, filing, grinding or sawing. Machining technicians process the workpieces on conventional (mechanical or electrical) machines or using computer-controlled (CNC) systems. They plan the work steps, select the materials and check the quality of the finished workpieces.
Your workspace:
- Manufacture and machine simple and complex components using cutting / machining production techniques
- Use machining production processes with conventional machines: e.g. filing, sawing, milling, turning, polishing, drilling, countersinking, reaming, thread cutting
- Use machining processes with computer-controlled (CNC) machines: e.g. drilling, countersinking, reaming, thread cutting, milling, turning, grinding
- Apply ablative manufacturing processes: e.g. spark erosion
- Using forming manufacturing processes: e.g. bending, stamping, upsetting, drawing
- Apply cutting manufacturing processes: e.g. punching, cutting, shearing, notching
- create, programme and modify simple programmes for computer-aided (CNC) machine tools and production systems
- transfer computer-aided (CAD) designs into production programmes
- Set up, commission, clean and maintain machine tools and production systems
- Check, clean and polish finished workpieces
- keep technical records and documentation
